The member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Prince Olaide Akinremi has distributed seed cash and starter packs to hundreds of beneficiaries who participated in the various entrepreneurial trainings he facilitated.
This is just as he has charged governments at all levels to take as priority the training and equipment of young Nigerians in businesses rather than concentrating on giving items such as motorcycles and sundry disposable empowerment
At the training which was held between 16th and 20th August 2021, participants were trained in different vocational skills ranging from catering and confectioneries, soap-making, cosmetics and disinfectants making; leather works; fashion head ties, and mobile telephone handset repair.
At a closing ceremony which had in attendance traditional rulers, All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in the constituency and other stakeholders in Ibadan North held at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall opposite UCH main gate, Ibadan, beneficiaries received certificates and equipment as well as seed cash.
Akinremi in his remarks encouraged all the beneficiaries to focus on their skills and follow through with the knowledge gained from their trainers; and also charged them to make judicious use of the seed cash and starter packs to establish self-sustaining businesses.
He said “big businesses seen around today were once small businesses which grew as a result of the unwavering tenacity and focus of their owners”, saying he could serve as a case study of business success.
The federal lawmaker noted that entrepreneurship retained “an important role in the economic growth and stability of not only our dear Oyo State, but Nigeria as a whole,” and encouraged government at all levels to channel more resources into programmes that will help to advance this course for the benefit of all.
Conclusively, Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban appreciated all stakeholders present, Kabiyesi’s, Baale’s, Mogaji’s, APC party leaders in Ibadan North for their active participation and support towards the success of the programme, while also assuring that more entrepreneurial trainings and empowerment programmes are in the pipeline for the benefit of the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
