The Centre for Public Service Productivity and Development (CeProd) has inducted 18 new fellows from academia, finance, health, and agriculture at its membership induction ceremony and leadership summit, held in partnership with Crown University International Chartered, Delaware, USA.
The ceremony took place on July 26, 2025, at the Gallery Hall, Unilag Guest House, University of Lagos.
The event, which attracted leaders and professionals across various sectors, also featured the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Awards on distinguished individuals who have made impactful contributions in their fields. Welcoming the guests, Dr Chris Egbu, Director General of CeProd, underscored the transformative power of productivity. “Mastering productivity techniques enables individuals to achieve more in less time and opens doors to greater opportunities for personal and national development,” he noted.
President of CeProd, Prof. Sandeep Gupta, described the selection process as rigorous, stating that the election of the new fellows was based on their proven professional achievements and commitment to global standards of productivity and economic growth.
Among the event’s highlights were two keynote presentations. Prof. Evans Osabuohien, a Professor of Economics at Covenant University, delivered a lecture titled “Integrity in Leadership: Combating Corruption for National Renewal”. Dr David Adebisi Samuel, a seasoned academic and former lecturer at the Nigerian Defence Academy, spoke on “Public Policy and Economic Reform: Addressing the Challenges of Low Productivity and Infrastructure Deficits in Nigeria.”
The new fellows, selected through a thorough multi-phase screening process, were drawn from across sectors. The selection began with nominations by field experts, followed by long- and short-listing, and culminated in interactive sessions with the final 50 candidates. Only those with at least 15 years of distinguished experience and significant contributions in their respective professions were considered.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inducted medical consultants, Dr Tamaraemumoemi Okoro, FCP, Consultant Cardiologist and Associate Professor at Niger Delta University, expressed her gratitude to CeProd. “This recognition validates years of dedication to cardiovascular care and academic research. It inspires me to aim higher in advancing cardiac medicine in Nigeria,” she said.
Mrs Abidemi Omolayo Olukole, FCP, Chief Financial Officer at Adioo Nigeria Limited and a seasoned Chartered Accountant, also appreciated the honour. “This fellowship affirms that my work in digital finance and SME development is making an impact. I’m motivated to do even more for the finance sector in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa,” she said.
Mr Akeem Akintoye Amusa, FCP, CEO of Charity Ventures Nigeria Limited and former Regional Control Manager at Heritage Bank Plc, was equally elated. “Passing through a rigorous selection process and being recognised for my work in banking, agriculture, and marketing is a humbling experience. I look forward to greater contributions in these sectors,” he said.
The Centre for Public Service Productivity and Development (CeProd) is the first Productivity Centre in Africa. It was established to support efforts by governments and global development agencies such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO), UNDP, UNCTAD, APO, EANPC, and PAPA to enhance productivity and public service delivery.
CeProd’s latest induction and summit reaffirm its commitment to building a network of professionals driving excellence, integrity, and innovation in public and private sector productivity across Africa and beyond.
