The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is set to renovate its International Training Institute, aimed at enhancing capacity building and knowledge sharing for financial sector professionals.
The investment, according to the bank, will enable the institute to provide world-class training facilities, reducing the need for overseas training programs and resulting in significant cost savings.
By localising training, the CBN expects to save millions of naira annually, which can be channelled into critical developmental projects.
According to information obtained from its website, the CBN disclosed that the renovated institute will foster collaboration among African central banks, promote regional expertise and thought leadership in monetary policy, financial stability and economic development.
The CBN, being the apex bank of the country, occupies a central position in the economic and social development of Nigeria.
In an effort to fulfil its vision of being the best in class among the world’s central banks, the bank said it aims at building a capable workforce by providing effective learning and development solution that will close competency gaps and enable the delivery of its strategic objectives.
“The CBN International Training Institute (ITI) was designed as a specialised training institute for CBN staff and a global training hub for staff of private/public sector agencies, thus saving cost from some overseas training and generating revenue for the bank.
“However, the current dilapidation of the facility has rendered it ineffective to serve its original objective of being a global centre for specialised training. Consequently, the bank now wishes to invite reputable and competent contractors and consultants with certified knowledge, verifiable capacity and experience to indicate interest to prequalify for the proposed renovation of the Central Bank of Nigeria, International Training Institute Maitama, Abuja.
“The CBN International Training Institute is dedicated to fostering excellence, innovation and leadership in the financial sector. Through our meticulously designed courses and world-class faculty, we aim to provide you with the tools and insights necessary for navigating the dynamic landscape of the global economy.
“Our institute stands as a beacon of excellence, committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the intricacies of the ever-evolving financial landscape. Your presence here signifies your dedication to professional development and it is our privilege to be a part of your educational journey.
“As the Director of the Capacity Development Department, I am thrilled to embark on this journey of learning and growth with you and I encourage you to make the most of this valuable opportunity to expand your knowledge, network with peers, and contribute to the vibrant learning community that defines our institute,” Jimoh Musa Itopa, Director, Capacity Development Department of the CBN, stated.
