The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Bauchi Branch, has donated a motorised Fire Caddy to the Federal Fire Service (FFS) Headquarters, Bauchi State Command, as part of its corporate social responsibility.
During the handover ceremony, the Acting State Controller of the FFS, DCF Babangida Mallam Abba, expressed profound gratitude to the CBN for the gesture, stating that it would significantly complement efforts to combat fire outbreaks.
He emphasised the importance of such support in enhancing the command’s ability to respond swiftly to fire emergencies, particularly in hard-to-reach areas, and noted that the donation comes at a crucial time, given the recent surge in fire incidents across the state.
James Jonathan Laburta, CBN Bauchi Branch Controller, commended the FFS for its dedication and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to community safety.
He stressed that the event highlighted the significance of partnerships between government agencies and corporate institutions in safeguarding lives and property.
The Acting Controller also urged the public to remain vigilant and proactive about fire safety. He assured that the equipment would be effectively deployed for emergency response and training.
He called on other organisations to emulate the CBN’s laudable gesture, as stated in a release signed by ASF I Umar Jamil Lawal, Public Relations Officer of the FFS, Bauchi Command.
