…lauds coordination among security agencies
Olaojo Temitope, a Canada-based lawyer and Chief Executive Officer of Vincent Jo Hotels & Suites in Lekki, Lagos, has commended the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the service chiefs, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for their coordinated efforts that led to the arrest of high-profile terrorists across the country.
Olaojo Temitope, in a statement released on Wednesday, described the arrest as “a reassuring signal that Nigeria is no longer a safe haven for those who thrive on violence and bloodshed.”
He added that the synergy between the NSA’s office and the military hierarchy reflects a new phase in Nigeria’s war against terrorism.
According to Olaojo, for the first time in a long while, Nigerians are beginning to see proof that intelligence sharing, patience, and professionalism can yield results in the fight against terror.
“I must commend Malam Ribadu and our service chiefs for demonstrating that terrorism can be confronted without fanfare but with diligence. President Tinubu also deserves credit for giving them the political will and operational backing to deliver.”
Olaojo urged security agencies not to relent but to consolidate their gains by adopting more innovative strategies.
He suggested that the government should expand investment in community-based intelligence networks, strengthen border security to choke supply routes for arms, and establish a comprehensive rehabilitation programme for deradicalised insurgents.
“Apprehension of criminals is good, but it must not be treated as an end. We need to move from reactive to preventive measures. That means investing more in technology-driven surveillance, collaborating with local vigilante groups, and addressing the economic roots of terrorism, such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of education,” he advised.
Olaojo, who doubles as CEO of WhiteRock Energy Resources, further appealed to Nigerians to complement government efforts by volunteering timely information to security agencies and avoiding narratives that glorify violence.
“Security is a collective duty. If our communities remain silent out of fear or apathy, terrorism will continue to mutate. But with cooperation, vigilance, and the government’s renewed commitment, Nigeria can finally turn the page on this dark chapter,” he added.
