Brown, a guest speaker at a seminar organised by Total Nigeria Limited in Lagos to mark this year’s International Women’s Day, described social capital as one of the determining factors of success for women, desirous of excelling in their professional and business career.
Speaking on the theme, of this year’s Women’s Day, Press for Progress, Brown described the theme as apt, especially for Africa, since her peoples must press for progress because the continent’s economy is much smaller to those of most developed continents, in the world.
She, therefore, called on African women and men to push for progress so as to eliminate poverty and build prosperity in Africa.
Brown stated that women are very important if the war against poverty, being fought in Africa, especially Nigeria was to be won.
“If we want sustainable economic growth in Nigeria, we need to raise an army of skilled executives that are able to build and structure the companies essential for our economic future,” Brown said.
