Buhari’s wife to empower 1000 women, youths in Bauchi

IN her determination to empower women and give people sources of livelihood, wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, who is also the Founder  and Initiator of Future Assured Programme, is to sponsor a week-long skills acquisition  training for 1000 Bauchi State women and youths.

The women and Youths are to be trained in various skills like Beauty and Bodycare, Baking, Tie and Dye, making of insecticide, Body Perfume, Car Air Freshener production and others.

The week-long training has already been flagged off by the State  Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar at a ceremony held at the Multi-Purpose Indoor Sports Hall in Bauchi.

The governor, who was represented by the Executive Chairman Bauchi State Commission for Women and Youth Rehabilitation and Development (BACYWORD), Barrister Ahmed Umar Farouk Gwadabe, commended the President’s Wife for her effort to empower women and youths in the State.

He said that, “Your decision to target one thousand womenand youths is a laudable development. Your commitment to better the lives of womenand youths cannot be over emphasised.”

The Governor further stated that, “We all know that this  categories   of persons are the most productive the most agile and resourceful, when they are not fully attended to at their prime, there is a tendency for their bad elements in society”.

He then expressed optimism that the various skills to be taught would promote the economic fortunes of the beneficiaries adding that the present economic challenges calls for diversification through engaging in self reliant ventures.

Abdullahi Abubakar further stressed that his administration has re invigorated and strengthened institutions    and agencies like BACYWORD, Ministry of welfare, youth and sports, Bauchi state Orphans and vulnerable Children Agency (BASOVCA) and Ministry of women affairs and Child Development for them to discharge their operations.
