THE Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has lauded the federal government for its economic recovery efforts, with particular reference to the anti-corruption fight of the President Mohammudu Buhari led administration, noting that sanity is beginning to be the other of the day in the country.

Oba Aromolaran urged the Federal Government to expend all the money recovered from looters in reviving the economy so that it will turn back the tide of inflation.

The Owa made the assertion while receiving the Minister of Health, Professor Issac Adewole, in his home in Ilesa when he paid him a visit to congratulate him on his 80th Birthday celebration, adding that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has been working effectively in spite of the paucity of fund.

Speaking, Professor Adewole congratulated the monarch on achieving the octogenarian milestone, adding that the importance of traditional rulers cannot be overemphasized as they are closer to the people than the government.

The minister who acknowledged that elderly people are assets to the nation noted that it is important to tap from their wealth of experience, adding that government at all levels at one time or the other have made a significant breakthrough in some of their programmes with the assistance and cooperation of traditional rulers.

According to him, his ministry was able to record success in the area of polio immunization with the assistance of traditional rulers. “Nigeria did not make a breakthrough with polio immunization until government brought in traditional rulers.”

The health minister thanked the people of Osun for their continuous support for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
