THE Presidency has denied reports that rather than return to the United Kingdom for more medical evaluation, President Muhammadu Buhari would have his doctors flown in to attend to him in Abuja.
The reports have suggested that the president’s handlers had objected to another trip to London only after a few weeks of his return to Nigeria.
But the Presidency has now debunked the claim, saying that Buhari has not had a change of his initial plan.
Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, who denied the claim, said it was fake news, which the Presidency was not aware of.
He said: “It is false news. We are not aware of the reported advance movements. The last time the president spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed.”
Recall that Buhari was in the UK for nearly two months to attend to his health after which he announced to Nigerians that he had not been so sick in his life and had to undertake a blood transfusion.
