Buhari, Dogara, Tambuwal meet in Aso Rock

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, met behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.

Dogara and Tambuwal arrived together in the same vehicle before joining the president in his office for the meeting that lasted for about 45 minutes.

Both declined to speak on the purpose of the meeting when they were approached by State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.

When pressed to react to suggestions that the meeting could be over the skirmish in the House of Representatives over “budget padding,” Tambuwal retorted: “Not at all.”

He also refused to be drawn into the issue of the sale of national assets as being presently contemplated by the federal government, saying:  “I have already aired my views on the sales of assets.”

Similarly, he declined to answer questions relating to the accusation made by All Progressive Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu against the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun

“I don’t know about that” the former Speaker, House of Representatives told reporters, adding: “We are here to meet Mr. President and greet him and to show our support.”
