The Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State on Wednesday dismissed the suit filed by Muktar Kabiru of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), seeking to nullify the election of Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas as a member representing Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye, Toungo in the House of Representatives.
Justice S. Akinbiyi in his ruling argued that the petitioner’s case lacks merit as all evidence could not be substantiated.
The judge, therefore, asked all the parties to bear the legal cost of their suits.

Hon. Namdas, the APC candidate during the National Assembly election held in February 2019 polled a total of ‎62,374 votes to defeat his PDP candidate, Kabiru Muktar, who polled 61,436.
On resumption for the 9th Assembly, Hon. Namdas who was the former Chairman House Committee on Media and Publicity was named as Chairman Ad-hoc Committee which investigated the crisis between Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and members of the State House of Assembly.
In the same vein, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila appointed Hon. Namdas as the Chairman, House Committee on Army.
