Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that King Charles III has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and has commenced treatment.
The statement revealed that during a recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, medical professionals identified an additional area of concern. Subsequent diagnostic tests confirmed the presence of cancer, prompting the initiation of treatment.
Despite the diagnosis, the palace emphasised that the king maintains an optimistic outlook and is eager to resume his full public duties as soon as possible.
“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted.
“Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the palace said in a statement, adding that he had begun treatment.
