The Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, has confirmed an index case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.
According to him, the state has recorded its first COVID-19 case, since the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria.
DrTsanyawa further said the state government would soon make an official announcement on the development as the governor was said to be in a meeting with health experts and the state COVID-19 Committee.
Findings indicated that the said COVID-19 patient returned from Lagos State.
