THE kidnappers of the secretary to the military government of Ibrahim Babangida from January 1986 to December 1990 and briefly the finance minister in 1990, Olu Falae, Â have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Details have been confirmed by Olu Falae that he was kidnapped by six Fulani herdsmen on the 3rd of April, 2016 at his Illaro farm in Akure. He also stated that they threatened to kill him every half hour until the alert for the ransom was received.
He said,”There were six of them with three or four guns and every half hour or so, they will say ‘Baba we are going to kill you if  you don’t give us money.’
“On Wednesday,one of them came and said, ‘Look we are going to leave you here on Thursday morning. Since we cannot leave you here alone, if we don’t get what we want,we are going to kill you.'”
