The Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Monday Bubou-Obolo, on Wednesday, stepped aside for the emergence of a new Speaker.

The development followed the inauguration of Governor of Bayelsa, Douye Diri.
The members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly had also elected the Deputy Speaker, Abraham Ingobere, as the new Speaker of the Assembly.
