Senator Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West district in the Senate is now in the custody of the Nigeria Police Force, after trailing him for eight days.
A police source at the Force Headquarters in Abuja who confirmed this on Friday, said, Melaye after his arrest was taken to the office of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) in Guzape.
Melaye, who had earlier denied his presence at his Abuja residence, according to the police source, personally opened the door to his house at about 3:00 pm on Friday, after locking himself up resisting police arrest for eight days.

However, information had it that after Melaye opened the door to surrender himself to the police, he slumped in the presence of some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators and police personnel.
Thereafter, the police officers from the F-SARS headquarters were said to have assisted him to rise to his feet and was whisked away amid tight security.
