Towards achieving global academic cooperation and the pursuit of shared values, Bowen University Iwo, Nigeria, has establishment a robust partnership with Calvin University, Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.
This development, according to a statement made available to Nigerian Tribune by the vice chancellor of the institution, Professor Jonathan Babalola was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two faith-based institutions on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the boardroom of the Lagos East Baptist Conference Secretariat, Obanikoro, Lagos.
The statement noted that both universities which are steeped in a rich heritage of Christian values, share a common vision of nurturing intellectual growth, fostering spiritual development, and maintaining academic excellence.
It added that with Calvin University’s illustrious history spanning nearly 150 years, “Bowen University is eager to learn from it the sustenance of a robust Christian identity while excelling academically.
The key leadership representatives from both universities who witnessed the signing of the MoU were President Wiebe Boer and Dean Adejoke Ayoola, both from Calvin University, and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Jonathan Babalola, representing Bowen University.
They two institutions expressed their unwavering enthusiasm for this transformative partnership, highlighting the immense potential it holds in advancing education, fostering ground-breaking research and promoting global cooperation.
“This momentous collaboration between Bowen and Calvin universities is poised to make significant strides in the realms of education, research, and global cooperation, while upholding the core values that define these faith-based institutions.
