Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has announced that his government would take responsibility for feeding a total of 10,000 flood-affected persons in Borno State.
Bala Mohammed made the announcement on Monday during a sympathy visit to the Borno State Government House in Maiduguri, where he met with his Borno counterpart, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum.
The Governor disclosed that he had deployed the Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to collaborate with the Borno Humanitarian Response Squad in providing succour to affected communities.

He also donated the sum of N250m to support the flood victims, describing the flood’s devastating impact as “immense destruction of lives and properties, inflicting pain on the people.”
Bala Mohammed praised Babagana Zulum’s leadership, saying, “You have demonstrated exceptional courage and resilience in the face of adversity, using your expertise to conquer challenges. Thank you for your steadfastness.”
In his response, Prof Babagana Zulum expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a “timely intervention.”
“We are deeply touched by your gesture, and I assure you that the N250m donation will be judiciously utilized to alleviate our people’s suffering,” Zulum said.
The Borno State Governor commended the Bauchi State Government for its solidarity, stating, “This support underscores the bond between our states and commitment to humanity.”
