Borno CAN hails NEDC’s development projects in North-East region

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Borno State, Rev. Dr. John Bakeni, has commended the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for its inclusive approach to rebuilding and developing the North East region.

During a courtesy visit to the NEDC Managing Director at the commission’s headquarters in Maiduguri on Thursday, Dr. Bakeni praised the commission for addressing humanitarian and developmental challenges without discrimination.

According to him, “The NEDC has demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusivity and fairness in its interventions, which is highly commendable.”

Dr. Bakeni noted that the commission’s projects and programs have benefited all communities in the region, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

He commended the NEDC for providing two solar-powered boreholes and 50 streetlights to the Christian Association of Nigeria, Borno State branch.

The CAN Chairman prayed for the management and staff of the commission, wishing them success in achieving the mandate for which the NEDC was established.

In his response, the NEDC Managing Director, Mohammed G. Alkali, thanked Dr. Bakeni for his support and encouragement, saying, “We are committed to continuing our work in the region, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with the Christian community in Borno State.”

The visit was seen as a significant gesture of support and solidarity between the Christian community in Borno State and the NEDC and is expected to further boost the commission’s efforts in rebuilding and developing the North East region.
