Bisoye Fagade honoured in grand coronation ceremony in Ibadan

The city of Ibadan, a historical hub of culture and tradition, came alive as Bisoye Fagade, the new Director General of NIHOTOUR was honoured with the prestigious chieftaincy title of the Aare Asojuoba of Ibadanland by the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin in a grand ceremony that drew dignitaries, socialites, and well-wishers from across Nigeria.

The event showcased the rich Yoruba heritage, with traditional drumming, elaborate attire, and colourful decorations that set the stage for the momentous occasion. Guests were greeted with the rhythmic sounds of talking drums and the vibrant energy of dancers who performed to the delight of the audience.

Bisoye Fagade, a distinguished entrepreneur and philanthropist, received this prestigious honour as a testament to his contributions to his community and society.  The new title affirms Fagade’s new role in preserving and promoting Yoruba culture.

A reception held at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan and was graced by an array of prominent figures, including traditional rulers, politicians, business moguls, and celebrities. Among the notable attendees were Oba Saheed Elegushi, Oba Francis Alao, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Dr Hannatu Musawa and many others who added to the prestige of the occasion.

Guests dressed to impress, with an array of stunning agbadas, iro and buba and other traditional outfits that added to the regal atmosphere. The fashion on display was a testament to the creativity and elegance that Yoruba culture is renowned for.

As BisoyeFagade begins his journey in this esteemed role, many have expressed confidence in his ability to make a meaningful impact. His contributions to community development, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation are well-documented, and his coronation is seen as a fitting recognition of his achievements.

The event not only celebrated an individual but also highlighted the enduring beauty and strength of Yoruba culture. It was a night to remember, filled with elegance, tradition, and the promise of a brighter future for Ibadan.
