Bishop of Methodist Diocese of Lagos Central, Reverend Samuel Northey has charged the Christ Little Band of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Lagos Central to remain faithful and be good citizens of the nation as Group clocks 100 years old
He stated this while speaking with Nigerian Tribune following the church service in commemoration of the Group’s birthday on Sunday in Lagos.
He encouraged them to be salt of the earth as representatives of Christ.
While describing the Group, The Bishop said it is made up of very important women and personalities, emphasizing the celebration is that of God’s faithfulness.
He noted that the Group also ensure the building of a modern convenience for church members.
Northey appreciated them for the kind gesture, urging them to remain united and continue to work for the progress of the kingdom.
“Like it was visible, The Christ Little Band is made up of very important women and personalities in this Cathedral. And this Celebration is that of God’s faithfulness.
“In doing this, they also ensure there is modern convenience for use by the church members, which have been dedicated.
“We want to appreciate them and we pray that they remain united and continue to work for the progress of work’s kingdom
“My counsel to them is that if they are truly Christ Little Band, they represent Christ and must therefore be the salt of the earth.
“We want to encourage them to be faithful and remain good citizens of our nation
Meanwhile, The Group’s President, Dame Bolatunmi Taylor expressed gratitude to God for making the day a reality, describing it as a day not for speech-making.
She awarded and recognized members who served meritoriously and contributed to the growth and development of the Band.
