The Social Democratic Party ( SDP) has said if voted into power in the 2019 general elections, that its government would provide better opportunities for Nigerian youths and women.
The party gave the assurance on Friday in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Minna, Niger State, by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Malam Alfa Mohammed, adding that the party will also achieve the eradication of youth unemployment in the country by setting aside a reasonable percentage of the national budget for the creation of jobs for young men and women and fresh graduates from the country’s institutions of higher learning.
“Our intention is to make the youth the pillar upon which a greater and more prosperous Nigeria is built through gainful employment and eradication of all forms of youth restiveness.
“This is why we are calling on Nigerian youths and women to join hands with us to build this party so that together we will record success in all the elections slated for next year,” Mohammed said.
He enjoined Nigerian youths and women to heed the wise counsel of former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida who recently admonished the youth and women to join the SDP because it is made up of credible people that can also be trusted.
