The security operatives, known as the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards (BSCVG), have paraded three suspects for stealing diesel from TRIACTA Construction Company located along New GRA Makurdi.
Parading the suspects on Tuesday, Commander of BSCVG, retired Captain Ayuma Ajovbi, stated that the suspects were arrested Sunday night at the site.
Ajovbi stated, “After the operatives of the Volunteer Guards discovered that the suspects had siphoned diesel from the heavy-duty trucks into Jerry cans and were attempting to transport them into a waiting vehicle, they were arrested.”
While describing the act as sabotage, the commander said that the operatives of BSCVG are well-trained and that the arrest of these suspects was a testament to their efforts in the state.
Ajovbi further said that the operatives were on the trail of four other suspects involved in the shady deals, while assuring that after the investigation is concluded, they will be handed over to the appropriate authority for prosecution.
Also speaking, the Intelligence Officer of BSCVG, Emmanuel Ogbu, noted that one of the suspects, identified as Mohammed Adamu, is a black market dealer who attempted to bribe the operatives with N70,000.

Earlier, the chief security officer of TRIACTA Construction Company, Benjamin Atsaga, explained that the company had been experiencing such acts due to the connivance of staff who were later dismissed.
He said, “I am surprised to discover that the same person who was arrested for a similar crime of stealing and selling diesel is one of the suspects known as Mohammed Adamu, who was arrested today. He is a black marketer who has run afoul of the law many times.
One of the suspects, Mohammed Adamu, who spoke to newsmen during the parade, explained that they were invited by some staff of the company to buy the product.
