The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace Adagba, on Thursday joined policymakers, development partners and education stakeholders across Nigeria at the National Stakeholders’ Dialogue on the review of the Accelerated Basic Education Programme (ABEP) curriculum convened by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) in collaboration with TaRL Africa Nigeria, in Abuja.
Speaking during the high-level stakeholders dialogue, Dr. Adagba stressed the transformative potential of ABEP as a strategic pathway for integrating over-age and out-of-school learners into the formal education system.

In a statement by her Special Assistant on Corporate Communications and Community Engagements, Ms J. Ataigbough, she emphasised that further phases of the programme’s success depend on improved advocacy at the state level to deepen awareness, strengthen ownership, and drive coordinated implementation across sub-national governments.
She further noted that Benue State was already aligning with the objectives of ABEP through the recently launched Project BRACE-UP (Building Rights to Access and Compulsory Education for Un-enrolled Pupils) by the Benue State Government, targeted at tackling the menace of out-of-school children in the state.
“This stakeholders dialogue remains the Federal Ministry of Education’s efforts towards building shared understanding and strengthening ownership of the ABEP curriculum review process across federal and state layers of basic education”, she said.
