The Chief Executive Officer of Benue Investment and Property Company, Dr Raymond Asemakaha on Monday received the officials of SONO Group Global Brazil who are in the state to resuscitate the juice factory.
SONO Group Global Brazil is a conglomerate that deals in the production of fruit juice with a balanced sheet profit of over 60.6million Euro. A tier 1 in the world.
They are partnering with BIPC owns by Benue State Government in revamping the fruit juice factory.
According to the Managing Director of BIPC, Asemakaha the partnership with the Brazilian company is a significant milestone in the state’s effort to add value to her oranges.
Fruits like oranges, mangoes as well as others before now are produced in abundance.
Asrmakaha promised that the partnership with Sono Group which is expected to last for 15 years would mark a new era in its efforts to reduce post-harvest losses and boost the state economy.
According to Asemakaha, “By investing in our orange produce, these investors are not only creating a stable market for our farmers but also helping to reduce post-harvest losses by up to 80%
“There will be increased farmers’ income and livelihoods, create jobs opportunities for our teen youths and enhance the overall efficiency of our agricultural operations
“This partnership demonstrates the potential for collaboration and innovation in our state’s agricultural sector.
Asemakaha urged farmers and orange association to work together to ensure the success of the initiative, adding that when the juice factory becomes operational by October, it would end the era oranges leave the state to another place ‘as we offtake 100%.’
In his response, Chairman, SONO Group Global, Luiz Arenac said he believes in the resources that abound in the state, and assured that they would get the same quality plant and produce as it’s done in Europe.
He said, “We will not save any effort to make this thing happen. As soon as possible, we will see Nigeria juice in the world market.”
