The Rector of Ed-John Institute of Management and Technology, Imota-Ikorodu, Lagos State, Reverend Emmanuel Kayode, has charged the newly matriculated students of the institution to embrace innovation.
He added that the students should embrace technology, collaborate across disciplines, and push boundaries.
Kayode made this call during the 3rd Matriculation Ceremony of Ed-John Institute of Management and Technology on Wednesday.

He noted that the vision of the institute is to be known as a global hub of learning, skill acquisition, and research.
He further stressed that the institution had provided the students with a learning environment that encourages experimentation, celebrates ingenuity, and equips them with the skills to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape.
“I am so delighted to welcome you, on behalf of the Management, staff and the entire students, to this memorable event.
“I charge our fresh matriculates, our future thinkers, creators, builders, and change makers. Welcome to this great institution, where Innovation and Enterprise isn’t just our motto but it’s our way of life.
“Today, you officially become part of a community that believes in doing things differently. We don’t just follow trends; we set them. We don’t just learn from the world; we change it. And now, you’re here to do exactly that.
“Let me announce to you that after signing the Matriculation Oath, you will all become bonafide members of Ed-John Institute of Management and Technology.
“Our vision is to be known as a global hub of learning, skill acquisition and research. It is expected that our matriculates graduate with two certificates. One on academic excellence and the other on skill acquisition. Our vocational training is already attracting partnership from corporate organizations.
“Our motto; Innovation and Enterprise is not just a phrase; it is a philosophy, a compass that guides our approach to education, research, and societal impact.
“Our commitment to innovation means that we are constantly evolving, adapting our curricula and methodologies to reflect the dynamic needs of our world.
“We strive to provide you with a learning environment that encourages experimentation, celebrates ingenuity, and equips you with the skills to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape.
“Enterprise, because success is not only about ideas, but about action.
“We believe in equipping you with the skills, resilience, and courage to turn your visions into ventures, whether in business, community development, science, the arts, or any field you choose to pursue.

In his keynote address, Dr. Osaren Emokpae, who is a Visitor to the institute, also urged the students to embrace technology and take advantage of it.
He advised the students to take charge of their future through innovation.
Dr. Emokpae highlighted the transformative power of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation in shaping industries and economies, adding that students in management and technology-related fields are uniquely positioned to lead the future.
He said, “We are living in a world that is evolving at the speed of light. The tools of today will be obsolete tomorrow.
“As young scholars, you must not only adapt to these changes but learn to harness technology to create solutions, drive progress, and compete on a global scale.”
Also in his speech, the Guest Lecturer at the event and Director of Public Relations Unit, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Mr. Lanre Kuye, advised the students to take advantage of the new media.
Mr. Kuye said, “The social media is a veritable tool for advancing in life and it is very useful in the academic sector irrespective of the many disadvantages. Don’t be distracted by it.”
