The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has admonished President Bola Tinubu to be decisive in his approach to the raging insecurity and hunger, ravaging the country.
The body of Pentecostal leaders also called for an urgent intervention in the multi-layered and multi-dimensional woes Nigerians are grappling with.
National president of the body, Bishop Wale Oke, spoke at a presser, following the inaugural joint PFN NAC/NEC meeting in Lagos.
Expressing grave concerns about the current state of the nation, Oke, emphasized the urgent need for unity and cooperation across all regions of the country.
“We are living in perilous times with serious security challenges threatening our future and coexistence. The high cost of goods and services compounds our difficulties” he noted.
Appealing to all Nigerians to set aside political differences, the faith leader stressed that the responsibility for addressing the challenges confronting Nigeria does not rest solely on the President.
“We must all work together to build a united Nigeria,” he urged.
Furthermore, he called on Tinubu, to take decisive actions by declaring a state of emergency on insecurity and tackling the rising food insecurity crisis.
Highlighting the role of the Pentecostal church, Oke emphasized the power of prayer in overcoming the current challenges.
“With the support of the Pentecostal church, we stand ready to contribute to efforts to achieve lasting peace and prosperity,” he declared.
Oke, president and founder of Sword of The Spirit Ministries, reiterated the call for urgent solutions to the economic woes plaguing the nation, pledging PFN’s commitment to building a peaceful, united, and prosperous Nigeria.
He subsequently offered prayer for the nation and the President.
