As a member of the defunct APC Presidential Campaign Council, Oyintiloye warned that without the governors’ sincere support, the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the masses might be difficult to achieve.
He noted, “If some governors were genuinely aligned with the President in delivering good governance, the recent hunger protests could have been avoided.”

Expressing concern about allegations that some governors have diverted or repackaged relief materials like bags of rice and other grains intended to alleviate the suffering of the masses, Oyintiloye added, “To move forward and reduce poverty, the governors must be ready to support the President.”
While acknowledging that some governors are making efforts to support the President, he suggested that their actions might not be sufficient, saying, “The entire burden cannot rest solely on the President. The sincerity of the governors is crucial, especially in curbing wasteful spending and corruption.”
“This is not the time for passing blame. The masses rely on our governors, who are more accessible to them. The President is clearly doing a lot to alleviate suffering, but can the same be said of the governors?”
Oyintiloye also remarked that while some of the President’s unavoidable economic policies may cause temporary pain, the long-term benefits will be a great blessing to the masses.
Finally, he urged Nigerians to be patient and allow the President more time to fulfill his electoral promises, reminding them that 12 months is too short a period to rectify the years of decay in the country’s economy.
