Bauchi State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, has been relieved of his appointment and has ceased to be a member of the State Executive Council (SEC).

The announcement was contained in a terse two-paragraph statement signed and released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, and made available to journalists in the early hours of Monday.

The statement read: “His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved a minor change in the composition of his cabinet.

“In that respect, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, has been relieved of his appointment as a member of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.”

The Special Adviser on Media explained that the decision re-emphasises the government’s resolve to periodically effect changes in order to inject fresh ideas, strengthen governance, reposition the cabinet for improved service delivery, and ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes across the state.

Governor Mohammed expressed his deep appreciation to Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima for the services he rendered to Bauchi State and wished him well in his future endeavours.

He further reassured the people of Bauchi State of his administration’s continued commitment to peace, security and good governance.

According to Mukhtar Gidado, a replacement will be announced in due course.
