One of the beneficiaries of the Mansur Manu Soro Young Millionaires in Agriculture (MMS-YOMA), Kabiru, of Rafin Kado, Miya Ward, 1 of Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, has commended the initiative by the Member representing the area, Hon Mansur Manu Soro.
Kabiru, who is out of the 125 beneficiaries of the MMS Young Millionaires in Agriculture (MMS-YOMA) programme for 2025, conducted Journalists round the farm in appreciation for what was done for them.
The beneficiary while expressing his happiness stated, “As you can see, this is the farm I cultivated with the support of items I received from the MMS Foundation aimed at boosting agriculture.”
According to him, “When I was selected to receive the support, I did not believe in the first place, but, when I finally received the items and took them home, I sigh a heeve of relief. Today, I am the proud owner of this big farm.”
Speaking further, he said that, “With this farm, by the grace of God, I will be one of the next millionaires in my village because I am not owing anybody any money. I got all the farm inputs free of charge from MMS.”
Mallam Kabiru assured that he will use the money to do a bigger farm next year having have a solid base now adding that he will employ more hands for more harvest.
MMS-YOMA is a programme that aimed to produce young millionaires through agriculture and is privately been sponsored by Rep. Mansur Manu Soro.
Under the program, a beneficiary was given free inputs of: bags of fertilizers, herbicides/pesticides, spraying machine, training and farm clearance fee sufficient to cultivate half a hectare of rice with an expected outcome of 40 bags of rice valued at N2million.
According to the Coordinator of MMS-YOMA, Safiyanu Darazo, the 2nd phase of the programme is expected to commence during the coming dry season farming with additional 125 beneficiaries to make up to 250 young millionaires.
