Bauchi Police Command has arrested five suspects for the offences of criminal conspiracy, house trespass, theft, and receiving stolen property.
The Command stated that, “On 27th August 2025, at about 07:10 hours, the Command received actionable intelligence from a good Samaritan through the A Divisional Police Headquarters regarding a specialised team of motorcycle thieves operating in the Bakaro area of Bauchi metropolis.”
According to the PPRO, CSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil, in response to the information, a team of detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) A Division CSP Musa Alhaji Hassan, promptly initiated an investigation through intelligence-led policing.

Consequently, two suspects were apprehended: Abdulhamid Auwal, alias Wala, aged 20, and Aliyu Rabiu, alias Hitler, also aged 20, both residents of the Bakaro area within the Bauchi Local Government Area.
He stated that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to their involvement in the offences, revealing that they had conspired with three additional accomplices to illegally enter Baba Karami’s residence in Unguwar Sarkin Kofa, Bauchi, where they stole a Bajaj motorcycle during the night.
The motorcycle was subsequently disassembled, placed in a sack, and sold.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the criminal group specialised in motorcycle theft within their residential vicinity.
The investigation has identified other individuals involved in these activities, specifically Mahmood Mahmood, alias Ankula, and Ganiya, both from the Bakaro area.
The Command reiterated that it remains committed to locating its accomplice. Following their capture, the individuals will be profiled and charged in court for the specified offences.
In a separate incident, on 23rd August 2025, at abou 11:00 hours, operatives from the Command’s Rapid Response Squad, under the leadership of Commander CSP Suleiman Tambuwal, while conducting visibility patrols to mitigate criminal activities within Bauchi metropolis, apprehended three suspects: Hussaini Lawal, aged 20 years; Baba Sadiq Ibrahim, aged 18 years; and Wada Yusuf, aged 21 years, all from the Wuntin Dada area of Bauchi.
They were found engaged in the distribution of dry leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa in an uncompleted building in the Asorock mountain vicinity of Wuntin Dada.
In the course of interrogation, the suspect Hussaini Lawal confessed to trafficking in cannabis sativa for the duration of one year and provided information regarding his associates involved in this activity.
Items recovered from the suspects included half a block of dry leaves suspected to be cannabis, six knives, two pairs of scissors, a bundle of PTF leaders, four lighters, a container holding cigarette leaves (Taba), and a bunker.
The Command is dedicated to conducting a thorough investigation to uncover all relevant details and participants associated with these illegal activities within the state.
