MR Ibrahim MalamGoje, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, on Wednesday said that the union would train 100 journalists in the state in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
MallamGoje told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi that the training was to ensure that practising journalists meet the global journalism trend on ICT.
He said that beneficiaries would undergo a four-week training at the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi.
MalamGoje, who noted that there were more emerging trends in the profession, said journalists must be abreast of new developments in the profession.
“One hundred journalists from both the print and broadcast media in Bauchi State will be trained on ICT to equip them with modern journalism trends.
“This will also provide them with tools to explore more strategies for information gathering without much hardship.
“The training will run for four weeks at the ICT centre of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi,’he said.
MalamGoje said that the council would also organise more training sessions for its members to enhance professionalism and the sustainability of the profession.
