The Executive Chairperson of Bauchi LGC, Hon. Mahmood Babamaji, on Tuesday, donated and distributed not less than 600 bags of rice, sugar, and millet to the twenty councillors of the council for Ramadan fasting.
The Chairperson also gifted them an undisclosed amount of money to enable them to sort out their various domestic issues during the Ramadan period.
Mahmood Babamaji explained that the donation was done on behalf of the State Governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, as part of his annual donation to PDP stakeholders, elected council councillors, and other related bodies as well as organs of the PDP.
During the handing over of the donation, Mahmood Babamaji praised the Governor for effective and responsive leadership as well as his commitment to the welfare of the people of the state.
He also commended the Governor for entrusting him with the responsibility of distributing essential items to the beneficiaries in his capacity as Chairman of ALGON, Bauchi State Chapter.
He then announced a personal donation of the sum of N1m to the beneficiaries to enable them to cover the cost of transporting the items to their respective destinations.
In his reaction to the development, the Chairman of PDP, Bauchi LGA, Dallami Durbin Inkil, who responded on behalf of the beneficiaries, assured Mahmood Babamaji that the items would be delivered according to his directives.
The PDP Chairman praised Mahmood Babamaji’s style of leadership, noting that he always consults with stakeholders and councillors in Bauchi LGC before taking any action.
He said that the development is a demonstration of Mahmood Babamaji’s commitment to transparency and accountability in governance.
Dallami Durbin Inkil stressed that “Mahmood Babamaji’s donation is a testament to his dedication to the well-being of residents of Bauchi LGA as well as his commitment to supporting the Governor’s initiative to develop the state.”
