…commends establishment of mega school
As part of efforts to reduce out-of-School children syndrome, Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State has embarked on enrolling 5000 children of school age for the 2025/2026 academic session which commences on Monday, 8th of September, 2025.
The disclosure was made by the Executive Chairperson of Misau LGC, Salisu Hussaini Hardawa while speaking to Journalists on Saturday at the Premises of the new Mega School constructed by the State Government through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
The Chairperson also said that his Council has since embarked on identifying children who had abandoned schooling for some reasons particularly poverty, assuring that they will be returned to school.
According to him, “The Education Secretary and other staff of the Education Department have been engaged in series of processes to ensure that the sector got the boost required to maintain standard.”
He added that, “We are happy to have a Mega School in Misau and I asuure you that we will do our best to maintain it and make it functional. We will ensure that the facilities are put to maximum utilisation.”
The Council Boss also disclosed that more teachers qualified Teachers will be employed while those employed already will be in order to give the pupils the best of teaching.
He also disclosed that his Council has made provision for enough teaching materials and aids which will be distributed to all the Schools as the new academic session begins.
He however warned that the Council will not hesitate to sanction any erring teacher in line with the mandate given by the SUBEB Executive Chairperson, Adamu Muhammad Duguri.
On the bushy environment of the Mega School, the Council Chairpetson assured that in the next 24 hours, it will be cleared and the environment made habitable ready for resumption.
Salisu Husseini commended SUBEB for ensuring the completion of the Mega School, assuring that plans have been put in place to sustain the structure as already, residents of the area have been recruited as guards of the premises.
Earlier, the Education Secretary disclosed that there are 10 classrooms, 8 Offices for staff and a befitting Admin block, all furnished and ready to be utilised.
He added that all the Classrooms will accommidate not less that 50 pupils each without congestion while othet faciilities including conviniences have been made available for the pupils and staff.
Leader of the Journalists on tour of State Government projects, Commissioner of Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, explained that the tour is aimed at bringing to public, the major infrastructure development interventions by the Sen. Bala Mohammed led administration.
He stated that the Mega School’s across the State was aimed at reducing congestion and out-of-schools children syndrome in the State saying that there is ongoing massive enrolment campaign of schools aged children.
