Bauchi State Government has been commended for the construction of the erosion control culvert in Dagu community, Warji LGA, which has helped in reclaiming the eroded land in the area.
The commendation was made by the Executive Chairperson of Warji LGC, Hon. Aminu Barmini, when media executives, government officials, and journalists visited the area on a tour of some of the ongoing and completed projects by the Governor Bala Mohammed-led administration.
The council boss said that the erosion control has really helped in curtailing the problem of flooding in the community, thereby boosting agriculture.
According to him, “We are happy that the construction of this culvert has alleviated the plight of the people living in this community because, in the past, floods destroyed farmlands, houses, and properties. But with the construction of this culvert, incidents of flooding have been reduced to the barest minimum.”

Aminu Barmini also commended the governor for the developmental and transformational changes in the area, expressing happiness over the assessment of projects in his council area.
He led the journalists, media executives, and government officials to inspect completed and ongoing projects within the council area to ensure they could see the developments.
Some of the projects included the construction of a general hospital in Katanga community, the construction of a local government lodge, the completed erosion control culvert in Dagu community, and the construction of the 19 km Warji–Gwaram road linking Jigawa State.
He disclosed that, “During Governor Bala Mohammed’s governorship campaign, he promised the people of Bauchi State that if he won the election, he would transform the state. Indeed, he has left no stone unturned in fulfilling his promises to the people of Bauchi, particularly in infrastructural development, rural transformation, health, education, water schemes, and rural electrification.”
“On the construction of the 19 km Warji–Gwaram road, the road has opened up economic and commercial activities in the communities because people now do their businesses with ease, unlike in the past when the reverse was the case,” he said.
Aminu Barmini pointed out that the administration has awarded several projects, including the construction of the District Head of Warji’s Palace, the Burarana–Dabo road, an erosion control project, a new hospital in Miya, the Dabo village head palace, and Juma’at mosques, among others.
He noted that the people of Warji are grateful for the governor’s interventions, which he said have touched critical sectors of the community.
On his part, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman, explained that the journalists embarked on the tour to monitor projects awarded by Governor Bala Mohammed.
Also speaking, the District Head of Warji, Ibrahim Ismaila, commended Governor Bala Mohammed for the renovation of the palace and equipping it with furniture, adding that the people of the council area are indeed grateful to the governor for keeping to his promises.
One of the residents of Dagu community, Zubairu Mohammed, thanked the governor for all the development projects in the communities of the council area, particularly the construction of the erosion control culvert, saying that they have nothing to fear with the coming of the rainy season.
During an inspection of the newly completed 5 km Burarana–Dabo road, residents of the area expressed appreciation to the governor.
A resident, Zubairu Muhammad of Dabo Ward, said the road has transformed their lives.
“We honestly have nothing to say to the governor except gratitude. It used to take us three hours to pass this road, but now we cover it in just a few minutes. The governor has built us a road with a big erosion control culvert. Thank you very much,” he said.
Meanwhile, the site supervisor of the ongoing Warji General Hospital project, Balami Samson, has assured that the new 150-bed facility will be completed within one month.
Balami Samson, who disclosed this during an inspection tour by journalists to projects executed by the Bala Mohammed administration across Bauchi State, said the hospital is already 80 percent completed.
According to him, “All modern equipment is being used in the construction, and once completed, this hospital will go a long way in addressing the health challenges of the people in Warji Local Government Area.”
