Barely 24 hours after the suspension of the caretaker chairman of Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nura Dan Maishari’a, another caretaker chairman of Darazo LGA, Gara’u Adamu has been suspended on the orders of the state Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.
According to a letter of the suspension signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Saidu Abubakar, the “suspension was due to your lackadaisical attitude in running the affairs of the Local Government Area”.
The statement further contained that, “Government noted that you have not been engaging the Local Government stakeholders in managing the affairs of the council as the act violates the principles of good representation, equity and fairness”.

The government noted with concerns the persistence absenteeism from office by the suspended Caretaker Chairman of Dazaro Local Government as it contravenes the ethics of his oath of office thereby affecting the much-needed development in the Local Government.
The suspension of the Local Government Chairman according to the statement was to facilitate proper investigation into the allegations to enable the government to take a final decision on the matter appropriately.
The suspended Caretaker Chairman has been directed to hand over the mantle of the administration of the Local Government Council to his Deputy along with all government property in his possession as the suspension is with immediate effect.
