Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has solicited for the support of working Journalists in the state to enable his administration succeed and deliver on his campaign promises to the people to the state, especially in its effort to overcome the challenges facing critical sectors of Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Poverty Alleviation and Security.
The Governor made the plea while interacting with Journalists after the rousing welcome he got back to the state after the Supreme Court verdict, stressing that, this could be achieved through constructive, positive and balanced reportage of the critical sectors.
While thanking people of the state for the warm reception accorded him, Bala Mohammed announced the readiness of his administration to execute all the abandoned projects of the immediate past administration in the state.
According to him, to justify the huge expectations of the citizens of the state, he will do well to explore all avenues for resources to implement the administration’s development blueprint.
The Governor also assured unemployed youths that he would soon unveil programmes beneficial to them as part of efforts to ensure their engagement into useful ventures and ensure security in the state.
In his congratulatory speech, NUJ Chairman, Ibrahim Mallam Goje described the legal victory as a victory for democracy and journalism profession which he observed is the calling of the Governor having practised before venturing into politics.
The NUJ Chairman while pledging the support and loyalty of working Journalists in the state for the administration, he appealed for an improved working condition for his members because according to him that is the only way to motivate them to work.
Ibrahim Mallam Goje then called on the Governor to put the legal tussle behind him and get down to work and deliver democracy dividends to the people as promised during the campaigns.
