Bauchi gov forwards commissioner- nominees to assembly for screening, confirmation

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has sent an executive message to the State House of Assembly requesting it to screen and confirm his nominees as Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council (SEC).
The announcement was made during the Assembly plenary held on Monday, presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman.
The Speaker announced that the Assembly received a message from the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, requesting it to screen and confirm nominees for appointment as Commissioners and Members of the State Executive Council in line with the provision of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
While presenting the message of the Governor during the plenary, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Saleh Hodi Jibir, read the names of the nominees.
They are from Alkaleri LGA: Maiwada Bello (Geo Barrister) and Ibrahim Gambo;
Bauchi: Mahmoud Babamaji Abubakar and the immediate past Deputy Speaker, Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule; Bogoro: Tsammani Lydia Haruna; Dambam: Ahmed Sarki Jalam and Darazo: Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza.
Also nominated are: Dass: Usman Santuraki; Ganjuwa: Abdul Hassan; Gamawa: Muhammad Salees; Giade: Dr. Yakubu Adamu; Jama’are: Usman Abdulkadir Moddibo and Itas/Gadau: Hajara Jibrin Gidado.
Others are Katagum: Director General of the PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Hon. Farouk Mustapha; Kirfi: Hajara Yakubu Wanka; Misau: Aminu Hammayo; Ningi: Hassan El-Yakub SAN and Shira:  Muhammad Hamisu Shira.
The rest nominees are Tafawa Balewa:  Silas Madugu, and Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu; Toro: Jamila Muhammad Dahiru and Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo; Warji: Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki and Zaki: Amina Muhammad Katagum.
Hon. Barr. Habibu Umar representing Kirfi Constituency suggested that the House should screen the nominees on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of August, 2023, and he was seconded by Hon. Lawan Dauda representing Sade Constituency.
After the Speaker put the motion to a voice vote and the Members voted in favour, the House then resolved to screen the nominees on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of August 2023.
