Bauchi State Ministry of Education has embarked on a significant environmental sustainability initiative with the establishment of eco-green clubs in schools across the state.
This programme is aimed at cultivating environmental consciousness and promoting sustainable practices among the younger generation in what is termed ‘Catch Them Young.’
In alignment with the Ministry’s broader environmental goals, the initiative will also involve the revitalization of agricultural clubs in schools.
To further support these efforts, the State Project Office of the Agro-Climate Resilient and Semi-Arid Landscape Project (ACReSAL) will establish Plant Nursery Development Centres in selected secondary schools, particularly in underserved local government areas.
Additionally, the programme will champion the “One Person, One Tree” project to increase tree planting and green spaces within the state.
This comprehensive approach to environmental education and action underscores the Bauchi State Government’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
The slogan of the programme is #EcoGreenClubs #BauchiState #Sustainability #EnvironmentalEducation #Climate Action, as contained in a statement by Jalaludeen Usman, Information and Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Ministry of Education.
