Bankole emerges chairman of CAMCONIA

MR Segun Bankole has emerged as the chairman of the Corporate Affairs Managers Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association (CAMCONIA).

Bankole, who is the Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, emerged as chairman during a meeting held recently by the head of corporate affairs units of insurance companies in Nigeria, and he succeeds Ms Sobande Oyinkansola of Great Nigeria Insurance, having served out her tenure.

Director-General of NIA, Yetunde llori, in her congratulatory message, noted Bankole’s contribution, to the success and effectiveness of CAMCONIA.

llori stated, “We are confident that your passion, expertise and commitment will be instrumental in achieving the committee’s goals and objectives”.

The Chief Marketing Officer, Heirs Insurance Group, Mrs Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu, was elected as the deputy chairman, while the Senior Marketing Services Coordinator at Sanlam Nigeria Limited, Bankole Banjo, was elected General Secretary.

CAMCONIA is the Corporate Affairs Managers Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), set up to seek common grounds in the growth of the Insurance industry in Nigeria.

The new CAMCONIA chairman, Bankole, graduated from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, (OAU) and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Calabar.

He has over 20 years of work experience in the Nigerian private and public sectors with a keen interest in media, public relations, marketing communications, human relations, and business development.

Bankole is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School having completed the Advanced Management Programme of the Institution, and also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and an Associate Member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).

He is a member of the Global Development Network (GDN), an international non-governmental organisation in the pursuit of global manpower development, and a Fellow of the Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria (IBMN), who joined Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc in November 2007.

IfesinachiOkoli-Okpagu, the CAMCONIA’s Deputy Chairman and the Chief Marketing Officer, Heirs Insurance Group, attended Queens College, Lagos and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine and Applied Arts from the University of Benin.

She holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Communications from Pan Atlantic University (former Pan African University), and she is married with children.

In addition to being an author and scriptwriter, Ifesinachi is a marketing and brand consultant with a passion for entrepreneurs, especially women entrepreneurs.

Her first book, a novellette titled Deep Regret, was published when she was 14 years old, and was adopted as a secondary school-recommended text in Delta and Ebonyi states.

Bankole Banjo, the General Secretary of CAMCONIA who is also the Senior Marketing Services Coordinator, Sanlam Nigeria Limited, holds a Special Master’s degree from the Metropolitan School of Business and Management in United Kingdom (UK).

Banjo is a quick-thinking brand and communications manager with standout accomplishments across Advertising, Brand and Corporate Communications, Creative Writing and Media Management, who is passionate about Product Design, Management and Marketing.

He joined Sanlam Nigeria in 2022 from African Alliance Insurance as Senior Marketing Services Coordinator, and had worked at African Alliance Insurance as a Senior Manager – Brand, Media and Communications from November 2019 to October 2022. Before joining African Alliance Insurance, he was a Brand Management Executive FBNInsurance (Now Sanlam Life Nigeria) from November 2015 to January 2019.

Bankole, while ommenting on the election, expressed excitement and promised to offer his best as the Chairman of CAMCONIA in growing the industry.
