BAHA screens, confirms new Bauchi Deputy Governor

MORE than a month after he was nominated as the new Deputy Governor of Bauchi State following the resignation of the former Deputy Governor, Nuhu Gidado, Audu Sule Katagum has been screened and confirmed by the Bauchi State House of Assembly.

The screening and confirmation of the nominee took less than five minutes when he mounted the podium to face the House after the Speaker declared the floor opened for members to ask the nominee few questions.

But the member representing Bura constituency, Abdullahi Sa’ad Abdulkadir, moved a motion that the nominee is cleared without much ado because he is a well-known figure in the state both within and outside government.

The motion was seconded by the member representing Katagum constituency, Ibrahim Bello Katagum after which the House confirmed the nominee as new Deputy Governor of the State.

Audu Sule Katagum who until he was nominated by the Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar after consultations with APC and other stakeholders in the state was the Chief of Staff, Government House and hails from Azare in Katagum Emirate Council of the state.
