A former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, on Tuesday, asked delegates to the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to vote based on financial inducement
Bafarawa, a presidential aspirant of the PDP made the plea in Lokoja, Kogi state capital while addressing delegates and party leaders during his consultation to seek their support for his ambition.
According to him, there was the need for the delegates and members to have a rethink about the growth and development of the country.
The former governor, who described the next process to select the party’s flagbearer as a collective one, however, warned against delegates mortgaging their conscience as it would have negative consequences.
Bafarawa said he will stand by the promises he made to the people, saying as governor of Sokoto State, he made human capital development his priority.

He pledged to make the unity of the country his focus and advised those clamouring for restructuring to seek for unity, pointing out that the nation had been restructured through the creation of states and local governments, with no positive consequence.
He promised massive investment in the education and health sectors, saying he does not belong in the category of politicians who make unfulfilled promises.
Kogi State chairman of PDP, Sam Uhotu, described Bafarawa’s kind of politics as one centred on human capital development.
He commended the presidential aspirant for always identifying with the people in times of challenges.
Uhotu urged him to address the decay and level of impunity currently being witnessed in the country, and help salvage the North from the current lack of leadership.
