Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has released her highly anticipated third studio album, Starrgirl, a 16-track project that marks another significant chapter in her artistic journey while drawing attention to women’s health.

Released on August 14, the album features collaborations with international and African artists, including Wizkid, Zayn Malik, Rema, Leon Thomas, kwn, Theodora and Danny Ocean. The project blends Afrobeats, R&B, pop and dance sounds, reflecting Ayra Starr’s growing musical versatility.

Beyond the music, the album’s release has been linked to Ayra Starr’s advocacy around endometriosis, a condition that affects millions of women globally. As part of the album’s launch, the singer partnered with the Endometriosis Foundation of America, with the Empire State Building illuminated in purple on August 14 to mark the occasion.

The collaboration has added another layer to Starrgirl, particularly as Ayra Starr has been open about her recent health struggles and recovery from surgery. Her decision to use the album’s global platform to draw attention to endometriosis places women’s health alongside the themes of growth, identity and womanhood associated with the project.

The album’s connection to endometriosis awareness adds a deeply personal dimension to Starrgirl, especially as Ayra Starr has been open about her health journey and recovery. By using her platform to spotlight a condition that affects millions of women, the singer has extended the conversation beyond music, drawing attention to women’s health and the often-overlooked experiences of those living with endometriosis.

With Starrgirl, Ayra Starr continues to expand beyond the Afrobeats label, using a diverse sound and high-profile collaborations to strengthen her position as one of Africa’s rising global music stars.

The project also represents a personal milestone for the singer, who has described herself as proud of the woman she has become through the album-making process.
