AXA Mansard, a leading insurance and financial services provider in Nigeria, has announced the commencement of applications for the 2025 edition of its Innovation Exchange Accelerator, a 12-week programme designed to nurture and scale groundbreaking insurance solutions from local startups.
The accelerator, which runs from the minimum viable product (MVP) stage to scale-up, provides innovators with the opportunity to test and validate their products within AXA’s live business environment.
Participants will gain access to mentorship, industry experts, and tailored learning through masterclasses, office hours, and co-creation sessions.
AXA Mansard may also serve as an early paying client for standout solutions.
This year’s programme will focus on three innovation themes: New Insurance Models and Products – such as parametric covers, usage-based offerings, and IoT-driven solutions.
Distribution – expanding access to underserved markets including SMEs, gig workers, and the creative industry, while improving intermediary networks.
Underwriting and Process Efficiency – leveraging AI for predictive underwriting, risk assessment, and operational improvements.
Applications close on August 25, 2025, after which five startups will be selected to join the cohort.
The programme will conclude with a Demo Day on November 6–7, 2025, where founders will pitch to AXA leaders, investors, and industry stakeholders.
Ngozi Ola-Israel, Chief Financial Officer of AXA Mansard, said the initiative underscores the company’s commitment to shaping the future of insurance in Nigeria.
“The Innovation Exchange Programme reflects our commitment to building a thriving insurance ecosystem. By working with startups, we are solving real market challenges while redefining how insurance creates value for customers and drives industry growth,” she said.
The accelerator builds on the success of past cohorts, which supported startups such as Curacel, GeroCare, Clafiya, Chekker, LegitCar, MyItura, and Inocul8, helping them refine their models and scale.
