The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised motorists, especially those travelling from Lagos through Bida to Minna to avoid the Bida-Minna Road, as it is not passable.
The FRSC’s Head of Media Relations and Strategy, Mr Bisi Kazeem, said undercurrent water had cut off large portion of the ever-busy road and was therefore, dangerous for motorists, as the affected portion of the road was on the verge of collapsing, with articulated vet almost sinking.
He disclosed that the situation would necessitate road diversion from today and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday), to enable the state government carry out urgent repair of the collapsing spot.
He urged motorists travelling from Lagos to Minna to use Bida-Lapai-Paiko-Minna Road, while those leaving Lagos to Abuja via the same route to divert to Bida-Lapai-Paiko-Suleja, and those travelling from Minna to Bida to go through Lapai, respectively.
Mr Kazeem said FRSC officers and men would be on ground for traffic control at the location.
