Nigerian telecommunications giant Etisalat has enlisted acclaimed talent and event manager Tochukwu Umezulike, better known as “Toks Asher Young,” to manage their upcoming “Cloud Nine” music sessions scheduled for Port Harcourt and Abuja later this year. This collaboration with Young marks a strategic move to elevate the experience of the Cloud Nine series, which has become a key cultural platform for the company. The Etisalat Cloud Nine sessions were first introduced in Lagos and Abuja in 2013, aiming to bring together veteran artists and emerging talents in a unique celebration of Nigerian music. The event pairs iconic musicians with new-generation artists for collaborative performances, spotlighting classic hits alongside contemporary styles. Due to its success, the Cloud Nine series expanded in 2014 to include Port Harcourt, providing even more fans with access to live music from some of Nigeria’s most prominent artists. Speaking on his involvement, Toks Asher Young expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative: “I feel privileged to have been recommended for this responsibility. I am passionate about music as a whole no matter the genre, and this initiative by Etisalat will remind the new age artists that good music, just like style, never expires or goes out of vogue.” He added that working with a prominent brand like Etisalat on such a high-profile event represents a significant milestone in his career as a talent and events manager. The Cloud Nine sessions are part of Etisalat’s commitment to providing exclusive experiences to its high-value customers, combining entertainment with customer engagement. In his new role, Toks Asher Young will be responsible for booking and coordinating artists, arranging for accompanying bands, and overseeing the event management for each session.
