SOMETIME ago, the Oyo State government, under the leadership of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, announced the appointment of Alhaji T.A. Akanji as the Acting General Manager of the Water Corporation of Oyo State.
Until his recent appointment, he was the Director of Finance for the Corporation. The appointment, as I see it, deserves commendation, as this is the period the Corporation needs effective leadership.
Alhaji Akanji, being a very hard working person, will definitely go a long way in easing the challenges facing the Corporation, as well as that of the citizens of the state as far as water is concerned.
While congratulating Alhaji Akanji over his appointment, I should equally advise him to remain unrelenting in the arduous task ahead in order to ensure that every citizen of the state has access to potable water.
Why this Corporation is important is that when the people have access to clean and potable water, then it will go a long way in reducing diseases in the state.
