The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria have called on the GCEO of the Nigeria National Petroleum Campany (NNPC Ltd), Engineer Bayo Ojulari, to face his job against the claim he made on Thursday that the current leadership of the nation’s oil company are under serious attack.
This was contained in a statement issued by the National President of the Council, Isah Abubakar, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday .
The statement reads, “lt has been from one controversy to another since he took over. It is disappointing, we expect the GCEO to remain focused and committed to discharging his duties and not alleging that people are after his job.
“For the five months you, the refinery helman, has been in office, no Management Team, Board Members or staff have brought any investment idea. He feels is the master of all and that only he will run the company since the bulk remains on his table; he trashes any input from any staff.
“His claims of reviving refineries are baseless, because the refineries he claimed to be rehabilitating were already operational and in good working conditions, but he decided to shut them down to re-initiate another rehabilitation.
“Instead of reposing the confidence President Bola Ahmed Tinubu entrusted in him, he is busy coming up with excuses that he is not a politician.
“He should be warned, because the president has the power to hire, fire and re-hire any individual based on performance.
“We admonish the GCEO to rethink his position and be at his best or he steps aside to give room for a more competent hand that is capable of piloting the affairs of the NNPCL. He should not retard the company and the efforts of those who have brought the NNPCL this far.”
