Atiku visits Babangida, Abdulsalami in Niger

Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar in the mood of the recent Eid-El-Kabir celebration across the country by Muslim Ummah, paid Sallah homage to Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar at their Uphill residences in Minna, Niger State capital.

The former Vice President, who is also the Waziri Adamawa was at the residence of the two former Nigerian leads and Elder statesmen to join them in the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir alongside other important dignitaries.

Atiku, who acknowledged the importance of paying homage to the two elder Statesmen and symbols of democracy in Nigeria, Africa, and across the world, felicitated with the duo and all Muslims Ummah in parts of the world on the occasion of the Sallah Celebrations.

He emphasized that the celebration of Eid, as stated in the holy scriptures, is not merely a fanfare but an admonition to the people to have forbearance and show compassion in every situation.

“The message of Eid al-Adha is to remind ourselves about the commandment of God to show love to one another and uphold peaceful interpersonal relationships.

“The essential purpose of that message is that we must put our trust in God almighty at all times”, said Atiku.

He also reminded Muslims in Nigeria and across the world to remember their responsibility of being good ambassadors of the religion by living their lives according to the practices and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

A former Military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, and former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar in their separate remarks appreciated the former Vice president for the kind gesture and honour bestowed on them in the auspicious period of Sallah Celebrations.

The duo expressed fatherly love and heart-to-heart pleasantries and offered prayers and fatherly blessings on the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

They later had a private discussion behind closed doors at the Uphill Mansion Minna residence of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
