IN line with its legacy as a platform for empowering entrepreneurs, driving innovation, and fostering collaboration within the business ecosystem, Junior Chamber International, Ibadan hosted the sixth edition of the Sina Adegunle Business Summit at Daylan Event Centre.
The summit, established to develop entrepreneurs, is held annually in honour of the Managing Director of Princeton Health Ltd, Dr Adesina Adegunle, who served as 1997/98 President of the organisation.
According to the organisers, Dr Adegunle is being honoured with the summit in recognition of his doggedness in business and his willingness to help others grow.
The summit brought together entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and business enthusiasts for a day of impactful discussions, skill-building sessions, and inspiration with the theme: “Rise and Thrive: Staying Ahead in a Fast-Changing World.”
In her address, Director of Management Information Centre, Governor’s Office, Oyo State, Adabanija Raheemat Abisola, highlighted the importance of resilience, a growth mindset, and continuous learning for entrepreneurs navigating challenges.
She encouraged participants to embrace setbacks as lessons and urged them to take bold steps toward greatness, starting with self-belief.
The panel session was a highlight of the summit, offering practical insights into pressing issues faced by small businesses.
The panellists included Founder of Betajollof, Sulyaman Rahma Jumoke; Head of Offline Payment, Flutterwave Technology Solutions Ltd, Mr Ayodeji Adelabu; Digital Storyteller, Ayo Adams and Managing Director, First Ally Trustees, Adetola Adeleye. These accomplished professionals addressed critical topics such as the role of corporate governance in business success, leveraging social media for business growth, and the importance of maintaining accurate financial records.
After an engaging pitch session, SafeHouse was announced as the winner of the competition and was awarded a grant of N500,000 to support their business growth, while all finalists received a mentorship session with Adegunle.
Adegunle appreciated the presence and support of everyone as he reiterated his commitment to mentor young minds to business success.
